Over the past few years we have seen tremendous growth in the Shooting Star Basketball Association. Many of the first players who began the program are still playing today and for the 2008/09 season we had over 100 children enrolled.  Not only have the players enjoyed this time, but the involvement from parents, siblings and extended family members have also contributed to our success. We wanted to celebrate this season by holding an event that would involve all of the players and their families.

On Thursday, May 14th, we will be hosting the 1st Annual Shooting Star Association Banquet/AGM at the Windsor Community Centre.  The doors open at 6pm and the banquet will begin at 6:30pm.  We have partnered with the Cocoa Pesto Bistro who will cater the event for us. The Association worked hard to make this event affordable and ticket costs will be $5.00 for players/children aged 14 and under and $10.00 for adults.  This event is not a fund-raising activity and all money raised will be used to cover the costs of the catering, the rental of the community centre and the incidentals for the banquet. In addition to the meal, we will also have team recognition for all the players, short speeches from each of the team coaches, a picture slide show of the year in review, along with the annual update from the Association's Board of Directors. We will also outline the summer programs and the plans for the 2009/10 season. This event is designed to be a family evening out for everyone to have a good time and we would like to have the players dress  in semi-formal attire.  There will also be some fun activities throughout the evening.
