Programs and Registration

Summer Registration will be held at the spring basketball nights - May 26th and 27th, 2009.
Fall registration will be held September 18th (7pm-9pm) & 19th (10am-12), 2009 at the Community Center.

Age/Grade for Each Level
Little Dribblers (5-7 yrs. Up to Grade 2)
Junior Mini (Age 8 & 9 (under 10 on or before Oct.1)
Mini (Age 10 & 11 (under 12 on or before Oct.1)
Bantam (Age 12 & 13 (under 14 on or before Oct.1)
Midget (Age 14 & 15 (under 16 on or before Oct.1)

Fall/Winter Programs

Teams generally start the third week of October with league play starting by mid November.  Teams play in the Valley league generally a 10 game schedule.  We endeavour to make up cancelled games, but that is not gaurenteed.  Games are from Greenwood to Windsor.  Junior Mini play in a year end tournament that is late in February called a Jamboree.  Mini and Bantam Teams play in league tournaments late in February and in BNS provincial tournaments late in March and early April.  Mini and Bantam players should expect: to play metro teams over the Christmas break and to practice and play in March to prepare for provincials.

Little Dribblers have their own schedule for start up times we generally try to get 8 weeks in before Christmas.

Coaching assignments and nights of the various programs can not be determined until registration is complete.  Little Dribblers go one session per week.  We try to get Mini programs two one hour practices per week.  We will try to post the information regarding coaching and practice time by thanksgiving weekend.  League schedules should be posted by November first in the Shooting Star Calendar.   

Spring Programs

Each spring we encourage Shooting Star participants to keep playing.  It is usually one session a week, after provincial tournaments, with a focus on skills and playing. 

We try to have no cost for current players and small fee for new players.
